Why Attend

The world of fitness has changed drastically in the past 18+ months. Covid has accelerated digital transformation within the fitness industry by at least a decade, and there isn’t a physical fitness brand or business on the planet that hasn’t been forced to adapt or to pivot to digital in some capacity in order to survive (many sadly have not).

If 2020 was the year of the rise of at-home fitness and fitness technology investments, and 2021 was the year of ongoing economic and industry -wide uncertainty about how, if, and when clients would return to physical gyms, 2022 and beyond will be typified by the omnichannel consumer, and the “New, New Normal”. How this new type of consumer chooses to engage with fitness tech companies and gyms alike will determine the future successes, and failures, of these interconnected industries.

Against this backdrop, in the past 18 months there has been a flood of investment into Fitness Tech; whether this be in the form of smart-fitness devices, fitness videos and tutorials, connected at-home fitness, or daily trackers and wearables. How can these start-ups differentiate themselves from their competition, and encourage customer engagement, retention, and investment? How can they work with physical gyms to ensure customers are taken on an omnichannel journey?

Join us at the 3rd Connected Health & Fitness Summit (formerly known as Fitness & Active Brands) to find out how to future-proof your company, position for growth, explore new business models and attract, engage and retain your customer base, throughout 2022 and beyond.

This International Women’s Day, we are delighted to launch our inaugural Women in Connected Health Boardroom. Fitness, Health and Technology continue to be male-dominated industries, and whilst 2021 was a record year for VC investment in women-led start-ups, it is clear that more work needs to be done in order for this industry to reach parity.

Debra currently owns and operates the Manhattan Row House locations and works with the corporate team on all strategic brand initiatives, business development best practices and on programming initiatives. She also sits on the Franchise Advisory Council and the Marketing Fund Committee to support and represent the franchisees who are in varying stages of growth. Row House has recently been ranked 1066 in the Inc.com 5000 list of quickly growing private companies.

In addition to her expertise developing Row House from scratch, Debra has played key roles in developing businesses from scratch. Prior to Row House, she created a million dollar plus annual business for NYC, focused on creating digital partnerships with the city's tourism facing assets.  This work helped NYC achieve its annual tourism numbers; tourism is traditionally the city's second biggest economic stimulus.  During this time she worked with city agencies and constituents, leveraging their assets, knowledge and know-how with that of private business of all sizes. These spanned from corporations like Red Bull, Jet Blue, Starwood Hotels, and more to smaller constituents with either multiple locations like BR Guest Restaurants or single location businesses like Empire State Building and American Museum of Natural History.  Debra also worked extremely closely with Broadway, spearheading the creation of Broadway Week; as a follow-up to Restaurant Week; which has become a global program to solve need periods.  Debra's 5 years at NYC & Company was pivotal to her career; giving her the network and know-how to succeed.

Prior to her time developing NYC & Company's digital partnerships, Debra wanted more than anything to find a way to bridge her business acumen with her passion for the fitness industry.  As an avid fitness professional, teaching classes before and after her un-related career in digital publishing, she came to learn the industry inside and out. She taught classes for top brands in NYC and took on many consulting projects to learn more about the varying aspects of the fitness industry: from gyms to what was becoming boutiques, to infomercial projects, to at home videos, to health and wellness expos, to the certification side of the industry, Debra spent over 5 years taking on projects to determine how she could create a career in fitness that she loved.

Even after graduating college a few years prior, she was in digital publishing for small up and coming VC-backed companied. She was passionate about disruption and even know, continues to move through her career motivated to cut through the clutter, create differentiation and establish sustaining business in smart niches.

Taryn Jones Laeben

Start Up Advisor / Chief Operating Officer / Chief Commercial Officer / Chief Experience Officer
SoulCycle, Casper

Advisor, Leader, Strategist, and Growth-Obsessed Partner to Start-ups Founders

Taryn Jones Laeben is the former Chief Operating Officer (COO) of SoulCycle, the revolutionary indoor cycling brand, founded in New York City in 2006. Before her time at SoulCycle, Taryn was the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) at Casper, the fast-growing sleep company, where she led rapid expansion across retail, wholesale, partnerships, customer experience, and strategy at large. Prior to joining start-up Casper, Taryn spent many years generating industry leading results in fashion & retail. Taryn led NYC-based jewelry brand Alexis Bittar as President after having run the North America and International businesses for Kate Spade New York as Senior Vice President of North America and Vice President of International, respectively. At Kate Spade New York, Taryn led multi channel growth across 120+ retail stores, 500+ points of wholesale distribution, and the e-commerce channel. She was a key member of the executive team that lead Kate Spade New York to become the eponymous global lifestyle brand it is today.

Above all, Taryn is a builder. In early 2019, Taryn recognized a prevalent need across early to mid-stage start-ups for embedded executive day-to-day guidance, more than a board or advisor could typically provide. Capitalizing on Taryn's years as a seasoned executive and day-to-day operator, with the ability and passion to quickly fuel growth, Taryn founded an integrated advisory firm, IRL Partners. Taryn and her team work with a select number of startups across consumer and wellness, including MIRROR, Parade, Real, and Daring. Since founding IRL Partners, she and her team have partnered with companies to generate ~$1B worth of enterprise value creation and supported early-stage companies in raising over +$350M in capital. She has recently joined Victress Capital, a fund focused on investing in high-growth early-stage consumer companies, as Operating Partner. She believes in empowering founder vision with practical operational and strategic expertise to realize outsized results.

AGENDA

The world of fitness has changed drastically in the past 18+ months. If 2020 was the year of the rise of at-home fitness and fitness technology investments, and 2021 was the year of ongoing economic and industry-wide uncertainty about how, if, and when clients would return to physical gyms, 2022 and beyond will be typified by the omnichannel consumer, and the “New, New Normal”. How this new type of consumer chooses to engage with fitness tech companies and gyms alike will determine the future successes, and failures, of these interconnected industries.

Join us at the 3rd Connected Health & Fitness Summit (formerly known as Fitness & Active Brands) to find out how to future-proof your company, position for growth, explore new business models and attract, engage and retain your customer base, throughout 2022 and beyond. Download our agenda now!

Far from the typical ‘meet-and-greet’ exhibition experience, you – as a sponsor or exhibitor – will be positioned as a partner of the event with a focus on the benefits of your product and brand, rather than just a name on an exhibition list.

With our extensive marketing experience and strategy, your partnership with Kisaco Research will grant you a sponsorship package that is an extension and enhancement of your current marketing and branding efforts. We value your ROI and will work with you directly on your specific goals and targets – that’s why we take special care in finding the most relevant end-users to attend, so that your financial and resource investment is smartly allocated.
