Why Attend
Limitations of cloud-based AI, such as latency, power consumption, security and cost, have become bottlenecks for the deployment of AI products and services in environments close to data sources. The Edge AI Summit focuses on the challenges of disaggregating AI processing across the edge computing paradigm, from cloud to device via localized ‘fog’ compute nodes near the network edge.
Themes for this year’s summit focus on challenges such as embedding tiny machine learning models on battery-powered devices, using AI for network slicing, applying machine learning to streaming data, and deploying cohesive infrastructure to empower developers to build AI software for the edge.
The Edge AI Summit attracted 150+ technology leaders from across the globe in December 2018, and returns this November for tech companies, device manufacturers and enterprises who are deploying machine learning to the edge.

DAY ONE WORKSHOP
Transforming Edge AI with WantWare
Ken Granville, CEO, MindAptiv
Sponsored by
The total installed base of Internet of Things (IoT) connected devices is projected to amount to 75.44 billion worldwide by 2025, a fivefold increase in ten years. In order to realize the potential of edge AI, new solutions must be brought to bear to empower more businesses and individuals to benefit from numerous innovations that technologists are developing around the world. This is not a new problem. At MindAptiv, we do not believe in simply continuing to build on top of software models that were created for a different time. To do so would be the equivalent of mounting rockets onto a horse. We believe that the purpose, and even the size, of an operating system, along with its relationship to hardware, applications, data, and users, all must change. It is time for new computing modalities to emerge. After over 8 years of research and development, MindAptiv is excited to introduce to the world a new revolutionary modality for computing. We took a fresh new look at everything that software does and created an entirely new approach, while still recognizing the need for a bridge to the past. MindAptiv’s CEO, Ken Granville, will provide a view of where the revolutionary platform currently is and a few of the many product offerings it will enable. It’s CSO, Jake Kolb, will discuss new tools that will enable the hardware ecosystem, developer community, as well as businesses and users to all participate in the acceleration of edge AI adoption. Attendees will be invited to provide feedback on the technology and current product roadmaps at MindAptiv. *Attending this workshop will not require signing an NDA.

DAY TWO WORKSHOP
Accelerating Adoption of Edge AI
Venky Veeraraghavan, Partner Group Program Manager, Microsoft
Moe Tanabian, GM, Intelligent Devices, Microsoft
Sponsored by
AI on edge devices is entering the “peak of inflated expectations.” Despite the potential for unprecedented gains in many areas, the complexity and bespoke nature of edge AI implementations means that this technology has the potential for a long stay in the “trough of disillusionment”, with only the most mature companies, with the most to invest, reaping the full benefits.
Based on our experience using Azure AI perception capabilities to build HoloLens 2 and Azure Kinect DK, and partnering with many early adopted of edge AI across industries and scenarios, Microsoft is investigating strategies, technologies and tools to accelerate the adoption/return on investment for developing and deploying AI solutions on edge devices.
In this invite only workshop, Moe Tanabian, GM of Azure Devices and Chandu Thekkath, Distinguished Engineer of AI Platforms, will discuss where Microsoft see the most significant opportunities, how the HW ecosystem and developer community have a role to play in accelerating adoption.
Attendees will get the opportunity to provide feedback on early stage product strategy from Microsoft.
*Attending this workshop requires signing an NDA prior the conference start.
