Alex Taylor
Alex is the Global Head of Emerging Technology of QBE Ventures, the venture investment and development arm of QBE Insurance. Alex and the team invest in, build alongside and partner with early-stage technology companies that have the potential to reshape the insurance industry.
Alex is an innovation and disruption specialist and futurist, helping established companies to see where the threats lie, and how they can play in the same field and with the same tools as the disrupters – and has spoken before a wide range of audiences on the Horizon 1 to Horizon 3 innovation and disruption journey, and how to navigate the bridge between.
As the technology lead on a number of AI/ML investments in VC and CVC environments, Alex has lived the challenge of applying machine learning and related technologies in highly regulated environments - from visual and voice analytics, customer sentiment platforms and IoT to the challenges of vehicular automation.
Before joining QBE, Alex was the Director of Emerging and Innovation Technology and also Entrepreneur in Residence at IAG. In his role at IAG, Alex led an insurance industry forum to enable the use of privacy-preserving technologies to reduce the opportunity for insurance fraud whilst retaining individual’s privacy and data rights.

Olga Puntus
As Head of Environmental and Social Risk Management (ESRM) team, I lead Wells Fargo’s efforts to understand customers’ E&S impact and performance, and manage E&S risks across the enterprise. ESRM team also engages with key external stakeholders to understand their perspectives about the industries Wells Fargo supports, and identify solutions to pressing and emerging E&S issues.
The ESRM function provides lines-of-business the clarity and tools they need to make informed decisions when growing relationships in sensitive industries. The ESRM approach also helps the corporation more effectively manage business and credit, strategic and reputational risks to Wells Fargo, while at the same time allow it to deeper understand customers’ operations and long-term viability. We help the company protect people, communities and the environment.
Prior to joining Wells Fargo, I spent 14 years at the International Finance Corporation (IFC) conducting global E&S risk management, due diligence, supervision, and audit in the infrastructure, apparel, manufacturing, oil and gas, mining, and health and education sectors. At IFC, I worked in a number of regions, including Europe, Central Asia, Northern Africa, Middle East, Central and Southern Americas. I hold an MS in Environmental Science and Sustainability Management from Columbia University in New York; Masters of Law from Humboldt University in Berlin, Germany; and the equivalent of a JD from Belarusian State University in the Republic of Belarus. I am fluent in English, Russian, German, and Spanish. I am a certified yoga teacher and mindfulness practitioner. For fun I travel the world and practice circus arts. I have a daughter who is a joy and light of my life.

Lourenco Miranda
Dr. Lourenco Miranda is the Regional Head of Environmental & Social Risks, and Model Risk at the Societe Generale Corporate and Investment Bank. He joined the Bank in New York in February 2016 as Managing Director Head of Capital Planning, Assessment and Review (CCAR). Prior to SocGen, within his 24 years of financial industry experience, Dr. Miranda has held multiple leadership positions in Risk Management and Finance at internationally active Financial Institutions in multiple regions and in more than 50 countries and regulatory jurisdictions. In the academic world, for the past 30 years, Dr. Miranda has held faculty positions in multiple academic centers worldwide in the fields of Risk Management and Quantitative Finance; has been in the board of international academic and professional institutions and a regular speaker at major international conferences. Currently, Dr. Miranda has been an Adjunct Professor and has lectured risk management, stress testing, machine learning and data science at Fordham Gabelli School of Business in NYC. Besides that, Dr. Miranda is a published author of academic and professional articles, and book chapters. Lourenco holds a PhD in Statistical Physics applied to Quantitative Financial Risk Modeling.

Moez Hababou
Moez Hababou heads Model Risk Management for BNP Paribas US for the Credit, Financial Security, and Capital Planning workstreams. He is responsible for all model validation activities in the areas of Wholesale Credit, CCAR, and BSA/AML. More recently, he is focusing on best ways to account for climate risk in credit risk management and validating machine learning models. Prior to his current role, Moez Headed CCAR Modeling for CIB BNPP US. Moez held similar analytical and modeling roles at UBS Wealth Management, Barclays and Royal Bank of Scotland. Moez has also numerous publications in academic journals. Moez holds a Ph.D. in Management Science from York University (Toronto, Canada) and a Master degree in Finance from Laval University (Quebec City, Canada)..

Leah Daly
Leah Daly is Senior Director, Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) for Santander US. In this role she leads the development and implementation Santander’s US ESG strategy, which includes reporting and disclosures, ESG governance, enterprise sustainability initiatives and development of green finance opportunities in partnership with businesses. Leah’s experience includes ESG, enterprise risk management, corporate governance and public policy.
Leah was previously a principal at Tapestry Networks where she worked closely with board and committee chairs on a variety of complex topics facing the Top 30 global banking and insurance institutions.
She currently serves as National Co-Leader for Santander’s Embrace (LGBTQ+) Employee Resource Group and head of the governance committee at Wondermore, a Boston-based literacy non-profit.
Leah earned her Masters in Public Policy from the LBJ School at the University of Texas as Austin and holds a B.A. from Dartmouth College.

Jim Costa
James Costa is Executive Vice President and Chief Risk Officer of Banner Bank. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing the company’s risk and compliance functions as well as the Bank’s interactions with industry regulators. He is also a member of the Bank’s Executive Management Committee.
Prior to joining Banner, Costa served as Chief Risk and Chief Credit Officer for TCF Financial a regional bank where he managed all credit and risk functions as well as operations. At TCF Jim managed the enterprise integration of the merger equals between Chemical Bank and TCF. Prior to TCF, Jim held executive leadership positions in risk, credit and lines of business as EVP at PNC Financial and Head of Enterprise Credit Strategy at Wachovia Corporation, now Wells Fargo. Jim has been active in financial services for almost 30 years with focus areas including enterprise strategy credit risk, and regulatory relations.
Jim earned his bachelor’s degree from Ohio State University and conducted his doctoral studies from the University of Minnesota. Jim is a veteran of the US Air Force. In Minnesota, Jim is active in community organizations to include Habitat for Humanity, Humane Society and The University of Minnesota Center for Children’s Cancer Research. Jim is also an advisory board member for the Midsize Bank Coalition of America.
